Genesis 21 has assisted a number of organizations in successfully competing for and winning funding from federal agencies such as EDA, USDA, HUD, SBA and state agencies which include Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and corporate and private foundations such as Meadows Foundation, Houston Endowment, Levi Strauss Foundation

 

 
 

Sample Awards

  • El Paso Electricians Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee and El Paso Community College- $322,000 from the Texas Workforce Commission as a Skills Development Grant.

  •  El Paso's Hispanic Chamber of Commerce- $750,000 from SBA to fund the Women's Border Business Center and $200,000 from SBA to fund the HUBZone Center of Excellence.

  • Presidio Independent School District- $300,000 from HUD to fund the West Texas Training and Entrepreneurial Center.

  • Alianza Desarrollo Communitario- $600,000 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to build affordable housing in colonias located in East El Paso County.

  • Workforce Solutions Cameron- $250,000 from USDA and $300,000 from EDA to build coalition building and economic development capacity among small rural communities located in Cameron County.

  • Frontera Women's Foundation- $100,000 from the Meadow's Foundation and $300,000 from the Houston Endowment to fund organization development.

  • The Foundation for El Paso Community College- $50,000 from El Paso Electric Co. to fund student scholarships. Also awarded $1,000,000 from the Hunt Foundation.
